Great Concept and Execution
I love how Craig says “In my faith tradition…” when referring to his religious beliefs. So many Christians take it as their moral duty to shove their religion down the throats of everyone around them and trying to avoid this just put me in a filter bubble of atheists. This podcast is a nice break from that.

Is this a perfect podcast?
Answer, it is! Cecil and Craig are perfect together. Cecil is smart and knowledgeable enough to ask specific and insightful questions that set Craig up perfectly to give honest, thoughtful, and informative answers. Cecil is humorous enough to keep the show entertaining but doesn’t get silly or make humor the point of the show. Possibly my favorite thing about this show over the 2.87 billion other legal podcasts is that I can understand everything Craig says without him giving a 23 minute primer on every relevant law. He speaks in plain English, while still explaining everything in detail. If you want smart and silly humor where entertaining you with laughs while bringing you up to date on the latest news, check Cecil out on Cognitive Dissonance. Another 5 star podcast.

Enjoying the balance
I’m a fan of Cecil from his other endeavors, and Craig is a much different balance to his brand of passionate cynicism than I’m used to. I particularly enjoy Craig’s dives into history, and while I admire his ability to find compassion, I also appreciate his measured and cautious diplomacy. “Rant” Cecil is one of my laugh to the point of tears hero’s, but this more measured discussion is a welcome dimension to his repertoire.

Very insightful
Being in America in 2024 is stressful. But when levelheaded people put out podcasts that help us understand the world around us, I enjoy listening. I’ve been a fan of Cecil “Something Italian” for many years. This new podcast is a welcome addition to my podcast listening.

A Breath of Fresh Air
I am really, really enjoying this show. Craig

Great show
This show is informative, easy to listen to, and empathic to the topics it covers. The hosts do a great job together!

Great show!
I can usually tell early on whether or not I’m going to like a podcast, and this was an instant hit! Interesting topics, great political commentary and legal knowledge, and really good back and forth between the hosts, both when they agree and also disagree. Just all-around a great show!

Common ground
Longtime listener of Cognitive Dissonance podcast and other projects Cecil is involved with so I gave this a listen. Can’t recommend it enough! These conversations are a great example of two people living very different lives with different beliefs, coming together for discussion and to learn from each other. Not familiar with Craig prior to this but he and Cecil have good show chemistry. I’ve learned a lot already and I look forward to future episodes 😁

Cool show
It’s a good show

🤘🖤
Breath of fresh air!

Very informative and enjoyable
Listening to this has been extremely informative and it is great to see both of the hosts be so passionate about the endeavor to help explain legally pressing matters of our current time. Great job and keep up the good work!

We need more of this
Cecil is an atheist Craig is a religious person but they prove here that if we can find common ground then we can have intelligent and interesting conversations. Craig and Cecil show that we can talk through our differences as long as we r open ear and open minds. I applaud these two their long time friendship shines through in every episode as they bring 2 perspectives to some important issues.

Deep thought on important issues
This show provides excellent insight on the legal, political, moral and practical aspects of immigration and other issues. Cecil knows what to ask and Craig has the knowledge and experience to give deep thought in an easy to understand way. Love this podcast!

Love it!
Let’s be honest, anything Cecil invests his time in will be amazing. This show has helped fill a void in my podcast lineup, being as I no longer listen to a certain podcast that spoke on legal issues. Thanks for the hard work, Cecil!

Phenomenal discussion
Two men who clearly love this country and our fellow man sit down to have a calm discussion about today's issues. It's clear, it's not alarmist, it doesn't have 50 bells and whistles. It's plain, simple podcast at its best. I am thoroughly enjoying learning about the law and current events thru this show.

Another side of Cecil
I came here because I listen and watch Cecil’s other shows (he didn’t mention Season Liberally on the first episode) and I was not surprised but pleasantly reminded how thoughtful he is on really serious subjects. I’ve been gravitating toward shows that combine secular humanists and believers discussing common goals recently and this one is top notch. Craig Morison is a really powerful voice and his knowledge in law makes these conversations much more relevant as they are based in the reality of our systems and not just feelings. Highly highly recommended

Respectful but open discussion
It’s refreshing to experience the dynamic of respect for the humanity and opinions of others where the hosts share some fundamental values, but disagree on others. It creates an environment where honest viewpoints can inform both the points of agreement and the differences. Learning a lot, and looking forward to more.

Exactly what we need as we go into 2024
It’s an election year and hearing a thoughtful conversation between Craig and Cecil is what we need to understand the nuances. Cecil brings the questions we all have (but better formulated) and Craig the expertise to explain what is happening. Looking forward to learning from this podcast!

Fred Groothuis (Fred from Colorado)
Congratulations on a great start to this podcast. I am a longtime fan of Cecil’s other podcast which is how I learned of this project. I like hearing views from progressive liberal people of faith. I am a secular humanist and atheist but I have been married to a progressive liberal Methodist for 40 years. I feel that secular humanist and liberal minded people of faith must join forces to resist the MAGA types and other right wing Christian nationalists.

Diplomacy
In a polarized society and world where diplomacy is far too rare, Lawful Assembly resonates with a space for tactful and thought provoking dialogue, benefitting us all.

A Much Needed Show….
The hosts deftly discuss law, politics and ethics through a lens of healthy compassion, which is much needed in our current political climate. Highly recommended for those who want to experience reasonable discourse and a bit of quibbling.

Refreshing Optimism & Empathy
What I appreciate about this show is that the hosts challenge and disagree with each other in the most diplomatic and bridging way. We need more of this!
